Ray Lewis status for Thursday: Only One man knows…

According to NFL.com’s Jason LaCanfora, Ray Lewis will decide for himself, whether or not he plays this Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

Lewis was unable to play last Sunday against the Bengals, after suffering a toe injury in week 10.  It was his first missed game since 2007.

Rumors have varied on the recovery time for Lewis, from being ready for Thursday’s game, to the initial forecast of being out four weeks.

Week 4 NCAAFB

Georgia -9.5 Dogs are undervalued as a team and Ole Miss is a mess they are also 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games and Georgia beat them 45-17 last year. Expect more of the same this year.

Ohio State -15 Yes Buckeyes cant throw the ball but they can still run the ball and as I look back to the start of the season even Hawaii ran the ball on the Buffs. The same Hawaii that got smoked by a bad UNLV team this past weekend. Colorado has also not won on the road it what seems like a lifetime. It wont start this week against a Buckeye team thats as pissed off as their fans are. This one is a blowout at the Shoe.

Florida -19.5 The Gators have beaten Kentucky by an average of 39 points in each game the past 4 years. It wont stop this year as Kentucky fans say this might be one of their worst teams ever. Another Blowout. Hell anything under 30 I would have bet this one.

Auburn -33.5 People are so afraid of the big number. Yes Auburns D is not the best but its still an SEC D at home going up against what might be the worst team in College Football. A team that avg 1.5 points a game this year and is 0-8 ATS in their last 8 road games. After not losing in a long time Auburn will want to pound someone and their coach is not opposed to running it up. This would cover at -45+

Andarmac99 from covers forum 5-1 in NFL Preseason

YTD: 5-1

Pittsburgh -3

Though the perception is out there that good teams usually don’t give a crap about the preseason I think the Steelers take this game seriously. First of all this is a national TV game on FOX, secondly I think these guys will be geared up to play this year’s darlings, and last but probably most importantly the Steelers were god awful last week. Washington manhandled them as Rex Grossman threw all over the field, the Skins piled up over 450 yards, had a 2-1 Time of P advantage, and Pittsburgh did nothing offensively on any level.

We will probably only seeing Big Ben for a quarter but that is fine because I expect good showings out of Leftwich, Batch, and Dixon who were bad last week and are still fighting for jobs (at least one is going to be cut). Andy Reid has proven he doesn’t give a crap about the preseason and against a team and defense that might just show up (Pit is 7-1 SU & 6-2 ATS under Tomlin at home in preseason allowing just 9.0 PPG) I think Vick might get the early hook. If this defense brings the heat there’s no way Vick stays in long, the last thing the Eagles need is him taking shots from some of these defensive linemen. I don’t have much hope for Vince Young either. Granted the Steelers probably won’t show a whole lot but Young was benched against Pittsburgh last year because he was too overwhelmed by their defense, so confidence may also be an issue.

Long way of saying Pittsburgh probably shows up while Philadelphia probably doesn’t and I see the depth check also going to Pittsburgh.
