F1 Turkey Friday

After the insanity of the Monaco Grand Prix, it’s almost quite nice to be left with the relatively
humdrum pace of Turkey. Well, that is if you can call going full throttle at 190mph humdrum…
At least it is back to normal for us gamblers. Monaco was a pig to try to call, as the report card
will show. Before we head on to that, though, I must tell you to head on over to my F1 website
http://www.TheBlackStuff.co.uk once you’re done browsing CheeHee. If I didn’t, I feel I’d be doing you a
disservice.

Anyway, report card time. You know when I said not to bet on Monaco, and if you felt you had
to to not put much money down because anything can happen and the race just cannot be called?
Here’s why:

Lost

Which Car Will Win The Race – All Other Teams @ 43/25
Race Winner – Robert Kubica, Renault @ 13/4
Head to Head – Fernando Alonso vs Felipe Massa – Alonso @ 47/20

Won

Number of Cars to be classified for Renault – 1 @ 13/10

Cancelled

Robert Kubica to finish in the top 3? Yes @ 31/20

Yup, that’s right, one of my bets was so good it was cancelled. That absolutely screwed me over, as
I had that Kubica for 3rd place backed heavily in a few different ways. I suppose I could be angry,
but I guess that’s life. I’ll just have to make them pay this week with iron clad picks…

Free Practice 3 Winner – Jenson Button, McLaren @ 6/1

I don’t usually like betting on practice as none of the teams are guaranteed to even try to go fast,
but with the Red Bull Racing cars not bothering to try in practice and the McLaren’s dominating, I
fancy Button to give himself the confidence boost by planting himself up top of the standings.

Qualifying Winner – Mark Webber, Red Bull Racing @ 8/5

By this point in the season we know that the winner is either going to be Webber or Vettel. The
only reason I’m going with Webber is because he is in form after winning the last two races and he
has a dimple in his chin.

Race Winner – Mark Webber, Red Bull Racing @ 12/5

Hey, you’ve got to figure if the guy can take pole he can take the race?

Which Car Will Win The Race? McLaren @ 333/100

Don’t bet this big, but a few quid on it may not be a bad idea. As we know, the RBR cars can tend
to be a bit fragile and in practice today Webber lost an engine while Vettel was grounded while his
team replaced a water pipe. Add on to this the fact that McLaren have dominated in practice and
there are a few scenarios out there which could see either Button or Hamilton standing atop of the
podium.

How Many Cars Will Classify For Ferrari – 1 @ 13/4

Felipe Massa has been trying really, REALLY hard to throw his car into the walls around Turkey’s
full throttle turn 8. I think he’ll realise his dream and succeed on Sunday. Along the same vein…

Will Felipe Massa Be Classified in the Final Race Rankings? – No @ 11/2

11/2 for a guy who has spun umpteen times in practice? Thank you very much. You could also have
Felipe Massa to not score points at 3/1.

Well that’s that then. Hopefully these picks will make up for the fact that Monaco was a disaster for
anyone not named Mark Webber. In the meantime, stop by http://www.TheBlackStuff.co.uk for all the
